What is really in the fossil record

I finally found the movie The Lost World playing at the local dollar theater and went to see it. (I wasn't going to give evolutionists any more of my money than I had to.)

I am not a movie critic, nor do I intend to become one. However, it is easy to be critical of both the Jurassic Park movies and this sequel. These movies are not science. They are not science fiction. They are not science fantasy. They are just entertainment mixed with a very heavy dose of evolutionary propaganda and false science.

For example, in Jurassic Park the DNA sequences supposedly extracted from blood sucking insects preserved in amber came from the Dominican Republic. According to evolutionists the amber in the Dominican Republic is 25 to 40 million supposed years old. What is wrong with this picture? Well, according to evolutionists the dinosaurs became extinct 65 to 70 million supposed years ago. How does one rationalize getting blood from a creature that has been extinct for at least 25 to 40 million years into the body of one of these insects? You see, these movies is not even consistent with the theory on which its premise is based.

Make no mistake, these movies were made with the exact intent of promoting evolution theory. Indeed, they were made in order to force feed a public with the claims of false technology, false science and false ideas. The producers and directors of these films are people who adamantly believe in evolution and are willing to do anything, say anything and make up anything which will sell their point of view.

What about this second movie? Like the first, it continued the same theme using even more and better Hollywood special effects. As the movie opens we are immediately beset by the idea that birds came from dinosaurs. This is an old evolutionary theme, but it is full of holes. Modern bird fossils have been found in lower layers than Archaeopteryx. Living today there are several species of birds which have either teeth or claws on their wings during at least part of their life. For example, the ostrich has claws on its wings.

As noted in a previous newsletter, the most recent claim to have found a dinosaur with feathers evolving from scales along its back has been thrown out as a proto-bird. Very careful research has shown that scales and feathers are totally different, erupting from different kinds of skin cells and that scales can not be used to evolve into feathers. The question which must be asked concerning add-on mutations is this: How is a partially formed feature (in this case a feather) of any benefit to a creature and by what mechanism would the feature be preserved since it would have no immediate benefit?

What about the claim that dinosaurs or any other living creature could be cloned from preserved ancient DNA. Does such technology exist or can it be expected to be discovered? Are the films merely predicting what will be possible in the future?

The cloning process involves having an environment in which the transferred DNA is placed and then it replicates itself (lives). All cloning processes require that a suitable egg be available in which to place the DNA. The egg from the donor mother provides the cell machinery, like mitochondria, the energy producing part of the cell. If there is no donor mother cell, there is no place for the DNA to live. In essence, no mother - no child. Therefore, if there are no dinosaur mother cells available you can not clone new dinosaurs.

Even the researchers who have claimed to have recovered DNA from dinosaur remains, admit openly that they have recovered only a trace of the information necessary to reconstruct a dinosaur. Even the material recovered may have been contaminated with DNA from other organisms. Lastly, most scientists question that DNA, which is an organic protein, will remain intact for more than ten thousand years. If we ever do recover any significant dinosaur DNA, it will be because the dinosaurs have lived during the past few thousand years.

Dinosaur DNA does exist today. Fresh dinosaur flesh has been found recently in Montana, the Gobi Desert and Madagascar. But, we will be unable to make them come alive once again. "Only God can make a tree."

False science is continuously fostered in Hollywood films. They are full of false comments and observations. The carefully detailed pack hunting habits of Velociraptors, or the human-like nesting and nurturing habits of the Tyrannosaurus Rex depicted in these films has never been witnessed and recorded by modern scientists. The behaviors shown are purely fictional and based entirely upon the presuppositions of the evolutionists working on the films.

What is the creationist view of dinosaurs? They are a testimony to the awesome creative genius of our Creator God. According to Genesis Chapter One they were created on day five (sea-dwelling reptiles) and day six (land-dwelling dinosaurs) of the creation week. They lived contemporaneously with man until the time of the Flood of Noah.

After the Flood, they were at a distinct disadvantage for survival and most of the dinosaur species became extinct during the next several thousand years. We have eyewitness accounts of living dinosaurs recorded in Job Chapters 40:15+ and marine reptiles in Job 41:1+, Job 3:8, Psalm 74:14, Psalm 104:26 and Is. 27:1. Job lived about 2,000 BC, approximately 350 to 500 years after the Flood.

We have dinosaurs recorded later in the Bible. The word "dinosaur" was coined in 1841 by Sir Richard Owen. The word used for dinosaur before 1841 is most often translated "dragon." In some translations, the word dragon is used in Psalm 91:13. Isaiah records flying reptiles in Isaiah 14:29 and 30:6.

After the close of the Old Testament, we have reliable eyewitness accounts of dinosaurs and people living together. A sample would include the accounts of: Herodotus, Alexander the Great, Flavius Josephus, Pliny the Elder, Marco Polo and Ulysses Aldrovandus.

It is a complete misnomer to believe that simply because a creature has sharp teeth and claws it must be a meat-eater. Many animals which are complete or partial vegetarians have sharp teeth and claws. Examples of these would bears, pandas and various bats. God designed these animals with sharp teeth and claws in order to cut through tough vegetable rinds and husks and enable them to get to the soft inner pulps.

The fossil remains of millions of dinosaurs is best understood as being caused by the rapid burial of these creatures during a worldwide flood. Fully 75 to 80% of the earth's surface is covered by dried out, water deposited, sedimentary layers containing trillions of dead animals and plants which all drowned. This evidence may only be explained as the result of a worldwide flood and not by a slow and gradual process of deposition over billions of years of supposed time. The evolutionary concept is simply not consistent with the physical evidence.

Lastly, a good scientist always asks these two questions. What is there? What is not there?

What is there? The rapidly fossilized remains of trillions of drowned animals and plants. What is not there? Meteorites! There are no meteorites in the lower layers of the fossil record. If the evolutionary time frame was correct, there should be millions, if not billions, of meteorites in the fossil record. Their absence speaks volumes about the false presuppositions and false science of the evolutionists.
